Years ago, I had no idea what would keep me alive in my writing. The writings and drafts that I have accumulated for years, I considered trash that I almost shredded and threw away as we moved out from the big city of Chicago to a small town in Idaho. Besides, the year 2017 was coming to a close and we needed to get out of stress and mess.
It was almost like a country living where we settled in and writing was one of the many great opportunities in the college nearby. I grabbed every opportunity and my first book was born.
Less than two years later, we had to relocate again and, New York was chosen. God must have something better or a message for us in this place. Seven months later, the second book was published. What could have happened if writing was not part of my life? Can you think of something why you write?
A phrase caught my attention.“Your trash is our treasure”. I love that phrase! It tells me a lot about life, including why should I write. First, writing is an inspiration. It always does inspire me whenever I see, read or hear something.
There are so many reasons why people write. One reason that intrigues me is: “there’s power in writing.” This could mean so much to me for it involves everything from expressing myself to sharing my thoughts and beliefs. As I put things into writing, it keeps me thinking, learning and so on… it gives me rich experience and a meaningful life.
Psalms 45:1 (KJV)- …"My heart is indicting a good matter:.. my tongue is the pen of a ready writer."
